Common Knowledge
- Who taught you What You Are?
Bo was released from the mental facility and released back in to the care of his girlfriend to convalesce before going back to Lyon Mountain. He never made it. Bo’s girl friend, Rebecca, was wolf blooded, and had been dating him so as to help her fathers pack of Blood Talons keep an eye on the soon to be Uratha. Rebecca’s father, Crazy Wolf was waiting for Bo when he got home. Finding out that your half man, half spirit is a lot for any one person. Crazy Wolf took Bo under his wing and taught him what it was to be Uratha. He explained why he was always so aggressive, why he had trouble with relationships, and where his strong sense of loyalty had come from. Bo had become Uratha, a guardian of the border marches. Now he did not come to accept this over night, but with in a few months things started to make sense. Crazy Wolf was patient mentor, and very understanding. He taught Bo the Oath of the Moon, and about the different Tribes of the People. He told the stories of Father Wolf and the Pure. He told Bo everything he wanted to know, and when it came time to make ready for his Rite of Initiation, he asked Crazy Wolf to join the Blood Talons.
- What was your Tribal Initiation Like?
Two years after his first change, Bo Lipinski was brought back to the mountain of his birth. At the top of Lyon Mountain New York, surrounded by twenty members of his tribe, his initiation was about to begin. The Blood Talons surrounded Bo in a full circle, each holding a large oak club. Crazy Wolf stepped forward and spoke. “Mother Luna chose you under the Elodoth Moon; you are to be the balance of the Uratha, the protector of our Great Oaths of the Moon. You have petitioned Fenris-Ur for to become Suthar Anzuth, in doing so you choose to be a keeper of our discipline. Fenris-Ur does not take the weak or infirm or those who can not survive”. As Crazy Wolf said these words the Ithauer brought forth a Rage Spirit in the form of a bear across the Hisil. “You shall battle this enemy while the whole of us beat you with these clubs. You will display your discipline by not entering Kuruth during your battle, and still defeating your opponent. Now enter Gauru”. With that last command, Bo took his war form and attacked the Rage spirit. No sooner had he launched his attack, the clubs began raining down upon him. Blow after blow beat at his body, his claws were trading strikes with spirit and his wounds grew grave. It was over soon and the Blood Talons soon joined a Howl of Triumph that echoed through the mountain tops. Bloody and beaten, Bo stood victorious as the body of the spirit dematerialized in to the ether. So another Howl joined the Chorus, a strong, noble howl from wolf who had not been their before. A red furred, hulking wolf spirit appeared in front of Bo, howling with the Suthar Anzuth. It was done; the Oath of the Moon was growled through the lips of the war form that Bo still stood in. Bo Lipinski was now known as Bo Word of Rage.
- The next Fourteen years
After his rite of Initiation, Word of rage goes on to join a Blood Talon pack formed by Crazy Wolf from a group of new Suthar Anzuth. Word of Rage quickly established him self as Alpha of the Crimson Fangs, a pack he would never leave, but a pack that would change very, very much. During the early years of the pack, Word of Rage and the Crimson Fangs would whole heartedly support the Pact of the Open Palm. The Crimson Fangs hold to the Oath of the Moon with out question. Bo wouldn’t have it any other way. He is known to judge fairly and execute discipline with Honor and respect, but there is one crime he holds no mercy for. “Uratha Safal Thil Lu’u”, The Uratha shall cleave to the Human. This is a sore spot for the pack, as one of its former members, broke this part of the Oath and was exiled to the Hisil for her crime. Word of Rage lead the pack in to the Hisil and bartered with the spirits of the area to help them quell this Unihar Although the Ghost Child had manifested far away from the birth place, the Spirits of the Hisil knew it would be a matter of time before it came for their court, hungry and looking for strength to enact it’s revenge. Through the use of his in born Elodoth Talents, Word of Rage was able to secure a truce with the spirits and hunted the Unihar, eventually binding it to a location long enough for the local Spirit Court to end its existence. Word of Rage him self devoured the final bit of essence and completely consumed the spirit, in an attempt to wipe the shame away from his pack.
After this deed was completed, Word of Rage and the Crimson Fangs went searching for the father of the Unihar. Although the more bloodthirsty in the pack wished for Word of Rage to kill the Oath Breaker, Bo was able to counsel them against it, and instead sentenced the male in to the Hisil as well and convinced a spirit of Justice to watch the Oath breaker so as that he would never cross back through the gauntlet.
The Crimson Fangs and Word of Rage would go on to battle a pack of Pure for nearly thirteen years over a patch of territory which contained a large Loci. The conflict only ended when the Loci was destroyed through their actions. At the end of the day the packs, battered bloody and both suffering from large casualties each sent a diplomat. Word of Rage was the natural choice. The two Werewolves came to an agreement. They would come together and bind a spirit to the place where the destroyed Loci once was, and each diplomat would sacrifice their blood to put the atrocities behind them. The two packs would part ways and find new territories, hoping to never cross swords again. This became known as the Great Sacrifice.
The Crimson Fangs then moved south to claim new territory in Essex County. Word of Rage was aging and settling down. At the age thirty four, Word of Rage met Helen Bigelow, a lone Wolf Blooded woman in the small town of Elizabethtown New York. A relationship grew between the young woman and the battle hardened Blood Talon. Bo kept his real life secret from Helen, posing as bouncer at a bar, and even going so far as to take a job at a local Road House just off the North Way. During this time the Crimson Fangs were living the easy life, they had a respectable tract of territory, very few obstacles to overcome, and less and less enemies to fight. Life was idyllic in Elizabethtown, but that was not going to last very long.
Three days after Helen brought the good news to Bo that she was pregnant; the Crimson Fang’s territory was attacked. At first, the blame was placed on the Pure, but the more the pack investigated their greatest horrors came to the forefront. They had been attacked by a pack of Young Forsaken who had taken it upon them selves to take the Locus from what they considered lazy Werewolves. That was their biggest mistake, and close to their last. The Crimson Fangs attacked back in earnest, fighting of the advances of the of the antagonist pack. These Uratha had no honor, they used Silver weapons and many of the Crimson Fangs fell to their blades. It was as if the Oath of the Moon had never existed for these soon to be Zi’ir Uratha. The Crimson Fangs knew they could not defeat this pack while it used Silver Weapons so, it needed back up. In a masterful plan which saw Word of Rage searching and finding his old pure adversaries and begging them for help, unknown to Bo, the Pure pack had been concerted to the Forsaken, no longer Predator Kings, the new pack of Suthar Anzuth stood with the Crimson Fangs. The two Blood Talon packs used all of their past animosity to subdue the younger, but better equipped pack.
When all was said in done Bo had one question to ask his new allies, why? The Former Pure Alpha, now known as Raging Blade told Word of Rage that the peace the two packs had made sparked something inside of his pack. It took years for the change to come, but they had asked for forgiveness. The two Alphas looked upon the young upstarts and realized what had gone wrong. No one had educated these pups, sure they had sworn their Oaths of the Moon, but no one had taken the time to teach them the proper ways, no one had taken the time to teach them what those Oaths meant. Word of Rage and Raging Blade knew what to do. Each pack took what was left of the upstart pack and began to tutor them. The Crimson Fangs and the Claws of Fenris-Ur both swore another Oath together. They swore to never let an atrocity like this happen again, that they would train the young as they found them, and educate them. There would be no excuses from the young who were tutored by the two packs, or so they thought.
Nine months later, Helen gave birth to a baby girl. The year was 1981. Nine months had passed since the Oath of Tutelage was taken by the two packs. During the summer of 1981 Bo’s home with Helen was attacked by the Claws of Fenris-Ur. The Pure had tricked Bo in to thinking they had converted, and had even taken three young ones from him. The Crimson Fangs came to aid their Alpha, but it was too late. Word of Rage escaped with his Daughter, but left behind a dead wife and his right eye. To saw Word of Rage was angry was the greatest understatement ever made. His daughter was kept with another pack mate’s wife, and the still wounded Word of Rage gathered his pack for a final assault.
Word of Rage stood on the hill over looking the trailer park that the Rage of Dire Wolf had taken as their territory. Bo seethed with anger, diplomacy had failed and only lead to deceit, now it was time for decisive action, action as the Blood Talons alone could deliver. The battled lasted through out the night, and in the end Word of Rage stood over the body of Raging Blade and prepared to kill him. With his claw primed to strike Crazy Wolf’s voice carried through the wind. “Imru Nu Fir Imru, do not murder him Word of Rage, he is defeated. His pack has fled, you are victorious. You would accept this same surrender, if it would save your pack, now offer the same”. Word of Rage looked up toward the hills and saw his aged mentor standing there with his pack gathered around him. He hung his head in shame and kicked the fallen Predator King away, motioning for him to leave. When he looked up, Crazy Wolf and his pack were gone.
The Crimson Fangs gathered up the enslaved Wolf Blooded young and took them to where his daughter was being kept safe. Word of Rage resolved to tutor these unfortunate victims, his daughter included.
- Then till the Present
Over the years the Crimson Fangs have gathered first changers and wolf blooded together to mentor and educate the,. Releasing groups of them in packs and helping them set up territory all around Northern New York. His daughter has since undergone her first change, and has joined the Crimson Fangs as a regular member. The composition of the pack has changed over the years, but Word of Rage keeps the same goals. Education is the key, lest we make the mistakes that bring us farther from Luna.
Word of Rage and the Crimson Fangs have recently come to the city of Albany New York. Their next Graduating Class has just underwent it’s rite of initiation and has been formed in to a pack in Albany’s south end. Word of Rage is getting older, now a man of 68 he is looking for a place to settle down for awhile, a place to maybe retire some day and pass on his life’s work to his daughter. Until that time, he will continue to do what he does best, train the next generation.
