Backstory and Personality

It was July 8th of 1989, the wedding ceremony had just begun at ten a.m. in a small church, just five miles north of the Prairie Band Indian Reservation. Laura Redding a member of the tribe and resident of the reservation was to be wed to Joseph Vieux, who was only half Pottawatomie and half French. Laura was on the arm of her father Orrin, the two were whispering to each other as they walked down the aisle to be delivered to her husband to be…and just like most fathers…Orrin didn’t like him.

Everything seemed normal and peaceful. Several were crying over the beautiful event, the three groomsmen and two Best Men (for how could Joseph chose between his best friends) were all standing, though somewhat unsteady, watching the approaching “doom” of their friend. The bridesmaids and two Maid of Honors (to match the best men) were crying at how beautiful it all was. Each was dressed in a pale blue dress with clunky jewelry and matching heels. The flower girl (favorite niece of the groom) was dancing ahead of the procession, happily flinging her petals around. Everyone was chuckling at the little girl’s antics as she twirled and flung flower petals, her smile reaching from ear to ear.

The procession ended with the bride being passed off to the groom, her eyes shiny with tears. She smiled at him and everyone oohed and aahed at how lovely it all was. The minister stepped forth and began to speak.

Suddenly, the far wall exploded.

What happened next, depended upon who you spoke to. Joseph remembers the explosion and suddenly being terrified for his life. The rest of the ceremony (with the exception of Orrin, five of his friends, and the bride) remember, pretty much, some strange terrorist attack.

Orrin and his five friends leapt towards the attack and sank monstrous canines into the throats of wolf-monsters, changing themselves at the same moment.

Laura not only saw, everything that had happened…she remembered every detail and played them back in her mind for years and years. They ate away at her dreams….and she never spoke to her father again, she wanted nothing to do with the monsters.

Orrin Redding vanished on October 3rd 1989, shortly after sending for his nephew, Jinx, to ask him to keep an eye on his family for him in his absence.

September 23, 1993 Charlotte was born to Joseph and Laura Vieux.

August 18th 1996, after years of speaking to a psychiatrist about her night terrors, Laura woke up in the middle of the night and hung herself in her closet.

Joseph was terrified of ever loosing his daughter. Charlotte was always under his watchful eye. He took her to work with him at his garage and from the time she could pick up a wrench she was helping her daddy work on cars.

2003 Joseph finally started back into the dating scene. Within the year he met and fell in love with a twenty two year old blond named Crystal. The two married the following year on June 8th.

2004 Crystal met a fellow "white" fan of the potawatomie tribe,Stormy Skye Mzhickteno, who actually spoke the language! She confided in him her desire to befriend her step daughter and he offered to help by offering a mother daughter bonding experience through learning more of their culture. Crystal hired him and starting on tuesdays he came every week to teach them all about the tribe.

2007 Charlotte had her first vision come to her in a dream. She saw Stormy comeing to her door and thought it was strange that he was coming on a friday. Her father and step-mother were both still at work and she had stayed home with a temperature. Charlotte liked Stormy and so she let him in the door. Her vision jumped ahead to him and her reaching the end of a very long conversation that seemed to bear no relevance. Suddenly his face changed into that of a wolf and he attacked her.

Charlotte awoke on Wednesday morning, terrified by her dream, but dismissed it as nothing but a nightmare.

Thursday, she started to feel warm.

Friday morning, she was sick with a fever of 101.3 and Crystal ordered her to stay home. It was so familiar that Charlotte cried and begged her to stay the day with her.

At 2:30, just when Stormy had arrived in her dream, the doorbell rang. Charlotte was so terrified, she faked being too ill to see Stormy and begged Crystal to send him away. Crystal finally told Stormy that Charlotte was too ill for visitors and asked for him to please come back by later.

Charlotte had her second vision that very night. In her vision she was running through the woods from monsters. She saw flashes of scarred wolfmen chasing her through the trees. It was night time and the moon was full.

Charlotte awoke and decided that she had to escape before the monsters got her. She ran climbed out her window and started running. She wasn't sure of where she was running to, but knew that if she could reach train yard, she could hop it and ride to safety.

She ran to the sounds of wolf howls in the distance.

Charlotte rode the trains for several days before she was forced to get off. She arrived in Detroit.
