About Cammail

Cammail lists are a place for members to exchange ideas, information and stories about the Camarilla, the chronicle, White Wolf products and merchandise and other things relating to the Camarilla community. These discussions are for the purpose of role-playing entertainment through creativity, imagination and the spirit of fair play and mutual respect for each person’s individuality and means self-expression. In order to uphold these values and ensure a sense of community, the follow Terms of Use have been established.

By joining Cammail, you affirm that you understand, and agree to be bound by, the Terms of Use. Cammail access is a benefit, not a right, and membership can be restricted, suspended or revoked for violation of these terms. The Camarilla does not prescreen, monitor or edit the messages submitted to Cammail. However, the Camarilla reserves the right to edit, limit or remove any such content at its sole discretion. Notwithstanding, each Cammail member shall remain solely responsible for any content he or she submits to the lists. You acknowledge that all posts made to these lists express the views and opinions of the author and not the administrators, moderators or webmaster (except for posts directly attributed to people) and hence White Wolf and its employees will not be held liable.

The Cammail lists use cookies to store information on your local computer. These cookies do not contain any of the information you have entered herein; they serve only to improve your interaction with the web pages.

For your own protection and privacy, we urge Cammail users to use discretion when divulging personal information on the lists and related web sites. As a user, you are responsible for the information you submit on the Cammail registration and sign up pages and agree to any information you have entered therein being stored in a database. While this information will not be disclosed to any third party without your prior consent (except by legal subpoena), the webmaster, administrator and moderators cannot be held responsible for any actions that may lead to the data being compromised.

The Camarilla reserves the right to delete offensive posts without prior notice and/or to take disciplinary action, up to and including the permanent banning of a list membership, in cases warranted by repeat infractions of these Terms of Use.

The Terms of Use may be amended by White Wolf from time to time. In such an event, the amended terms will be published on this web site. Your continued use of Cammail after such a change has been published will constitute your agreement to the revised terms. You may terminate this agreement by refraining from continued use of the Cammail lists.

Accessing Cammail

Cammail lists can be accessed via the CRD Lists Page (where subscription requests are automatically processed, or more directly via the Cammail ListInfo Page (where you may have to wait for a list Moderator to approve your subscription request.

Not all Cammail lists are accessible via the CRD, so always check the ListInfo page if you can't find what you're looking for on the CRD.

CAMMAIL TERMS OF USE

  • 1. Immediate banning, can result from any of the following:

The posting of OOC discriminatory remarks which are sexually explicit, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive; excessive obscene or vulgar language; posts which discuss or illustrate illegal activity, including any posts promoting unauthorized file-sharing or copyright infringement; providing links to sites that contain any of the aforementioned.

A member disputing a moderator ban based on the above list may email clubdirector@white-wolf.com. That officer will determine the appropriate officer to review the ban.

  • 2. Personal attacks are prohibited

Commonly known as flaming, personal attacks are posts that are designed to personally berate or insult another. Text of this nature is not beneficial to the community spirit and will not be tolerated. Cammail members are cautioned to avoid allowing “in character” disputes from becoming "out of character" personal attacks. The IC lists are designed for role-playing and/or portraying a role and it is sometimes easy for tempers to flare when the lines between the virtual world and the real world are crossed. Please keep in-character disputes in the proper perspective.

Disputes between Cammail members and the Cammail moderators, web administrators or White Wolf staff should be handled privately. To discuss problems or concerns, contact clubdirector@white-wolf.com

  • 3. Trolling is prohibited

Trolling is the word used to describe a post that is deliberately designed for the purpose of angering and insulting others. Messages of this nature are disruptive and do not contribute to the sense of community we want for our discussion groups.

  • 4. You may not post advertisements

Posts for the purpose of solicitation of goods or services are strictly prohibited. Announcements about upcoming Camarilla Events (to include conventions, charity drives and like happenings)are acceptable. Requests for aid in finding a specific book, prop, etc. are acceptable. Responses to those requests need to happen off-list.

  • 5. No posting of others’ personal information

Please respect the privacy of others and do not give out personal information without the person’s prior authorization. When posting to the list you must include your name and your Camarilla membership number.

  • 6. Keep OOC posts factual and accurate

Nothing can be more detrimental to the community spirit than the spreading of half-truths, falsehoods, unsubstantiated rumors and innuendo. Opinions are welcome, but lies can be libelous.

  • 7. Warnings and bans are not to be discussed on the lists

Such matters shall remain private between the moderators and the user. Questions or comments concerning warnings and bans will be conveyed through e-mail or private messages. Likewise, discussions regarding moderator actions are not permitted on the lists. If you have questions regarding a post or mail thread, please contact the moderators at clubdirector@white-wolf.com. Out of respect for our Cammail community, we will not discuss details about any person’s membership with a third party.

  • 8. Private communication to users from Cammail moderators shall remain private

Private communication between the Cammail moderators and individual Cammail members is not to be made public on these lists or by any other venue. A member wishing for an exception to this rule may email clubdirector@white-wolf.com and explain the need for the request.
