Artifacts:Loom of Fate

The Loom of Fate is perhaps the first Artifact ever created. It's name comes from its visual similarity to a weaver's loom, each thread representing a unique facet of Creation: an ideal, a location or a person. Fate, the future, is the whole of the pattern laid out on the Loom, taking clearer and finer shape as it approaches closer to being birthed into existence.

The Loom is not simply a reflection of how Creation acts; it is the inextricable concept of cause-and-effect. When there are errors in the weave, a man may fall uphill to his death, or fail to reach the river he would die in yet still drown on dry land. These incidents are investigated by the overseers of the Loom, the Sidereal Exalted. The Loom is dimly reflected by the stars of the night sky, allowing those familiar with Astrology to discern some vague plan of the future.

The Loom spins the pattern of Creation out of the pure Essence of the Wyld, giving it form and function. Because they are not actually part of the pattern, the Loom holds little sway over the actions of powerful Demons or other creatures not native to creation such as the Alchemical Exalted.

The Loom of Fate is located in Yu-Shan in the Dome of the Perfect Lotus.
