Red Sins is the ghost of a First Age Lunar Exalt that willingly serves the Deathlord The Sultan at the Gate. As one of the older and more powerful ghosts active in the Underworld, she has access to a number of abilities and Arcanoi that many ghosts are not familiar with. She also recalls many of her Charms from her life as a Lunar Exalt. She is the general of the Sultan's forces and leads them with brutal efficiency. She harbors a terrible hatred of the Dragon-Blooded for their part in her death during the Usurpation and gears her efforts toward her revenge against the Dragon-Blooded host, which is why she refused to enter Lethe and enter the cycle of reincarnation. She does not allow her animosity toward the Dragon-Blooded to distract her from her missions, but if any resources can be spared to capture Terrestrial Exalts without jeopardizing the mission, Red Sins will devote all surplus resources to the task. She prefers to take Terrestrials as prisoners to terrify and torture, and the Sultan at the Gate approves of her methods, allowing her a significant deal of leeway so long as she does not stray too far from his plans. To this point, she has not disappointed him in the slightest.

No one is really sure of the ties between Red Sins and the Sultan, and as neither ghost speaks of such matters, their subordinates feel it is unwise to ask. The truth of the matter is that although the Sultan and Red Sins were not mates in the First Age, they were good friends and allies, confiding in one another about the state of the world. Neither one of them was certain of what was happening to the Celestials during the First Age, but they knew that their friends and boon companions were acting far out of character from what they remembered in previous centuries. Of course, they were blind to their own horrendous misdeeds and largely ignored or rationalized the behaviors of other Celestials, dismissing them as little more than the weight of thousands of years of war and leadership. Of course, knowing what they know now of the Neverborn and the curse that was placed upon the Exalted, they both do their best to trick and trigger Celestial Exalts into committing unspeakable deeds. If such deeds open shadowlands, so much the better. So far, Red Sins has managed to encourage three Celestial Exalts (two young Lunars and a Solar) to commit vile deeds to defend their territories and protect their charges. This prodding and baiting is one of the proudest accomplishments for Red Sin and brings profound joy to her bloodless heart.

Leading her Jade Effigy Scale in combat from the front lines, Red Sins eagerly engages her foes with her soulsteel Grimcleaver, The Fell Key of Serenity, and wears moonsilver Articulated Plate for defense. She has also been gifted with a soulsteel helmet known as the Tyrant's Casque, which gives her the power to coordinate and enhance her ghostly forces from afar. All of these artifacts are either gifts given to her by the Sultan or in the case of her articulated plate, goods robbed from her tomb.
