Boston Unveiled/Inter Alios: Boston's Cabals/Quiescent Cabals
The quiescent cabals have stepped away from actively pursuing a political agenda in Boston due either to a change in focus or circumstance.
Founded but not necessarily lead by Ibeabuchi. The Novel Gentry (an alternative name to the cabal) took upon themselves to embody the Libertine edict of "Destroy the followers of the Lie", providing a militant front against the Seers of the Throne as well as the encroaching apathy within the Awakened and Sleeper worlds. Her public appearance with Black Mary suggests she has rejoined with her former cabal, Franklin Hills.
A cabal made of Moros mages. Despite its low repute thanks to rumors, the cabal was made of normal mages who profess full respect for the Lex Magica. Once led by Plague, it collapsed due to internal dispute.
Conceived as a paragon of liberty and individualism, Bloody Birmingham suffered from the relocation or mysterious disappearance of several key members. The October of 2006, the Council announced that the apparent deaths of several of the Birminghams was the fault of the Thearch known as Pentecost, supposedly having been corrupted by the Abyss. Since no definitive proof was offered, the Consilium remains split between those who believe the Council, and those who do not.
Hands of Shiva
With the loss of many of its members, Saint Ares was left with the task of rebuilding the cabal of his founding.
Lead by Marsaili, they sought knowledge and wished to protect the Awakened and Non-Awakened of Boston from any and all harm. Following the scandal of her association with the Seers of the Throne, Marsaili's child was cut from her stomach and now remains under the care of the Ebon Noose. She has since faded from public view.
The Illuminators were a Winthrop based cabal, dedicated to the preservation of magical lore for upcoming generations of Awakened. The group had no stated leader, preferring instead to operate as a circle of trust, the basis on which it was founded. It has been presumed quiescent since the quiet disappearance of all of its members.
The Strelesti were an exclusive Adamantine Arrow cabal, made up by members of Russian descent. Two successive leaders of the cabal were named Sentinels of Boston and the Lodge was once custodian of The Moros Library.
A Quincy-based cabal, composed primarily of Mystagogues and Arrows once led by by Benoit "Ophion" Talleyrand. The cabal was known for its steady, conservative presence among the societies of Boston as well as strong ties to the elemental spirit courts off the Boston coast.
A cabl dedicated to the study of the Supernal realms, once led by Glitch and Zoeker. After something of a scandal involving the Seers and a number of its members, the cabal split, with the remnants forming into Hoplite Phalanx and the Neo-SMG.
A short-lived cabal though with ties to ancient Ireland. Though composed primarily of Guardians of the Veil, the cabal tentatively accepted anyone deemed trustworthy. The cabal was subsumed into the Proverbial Fire when Brigid, its leader and sole remaining member, declared her new allegiance.
A Quincy based cabal with the purported purpose of the peaceful acquisition of knowledge, both mundane and supernal. It has been forcibly disbanded by the Consilium for dealing with Abyssal entities.
This Back Bay cabal sought a synthesis of Ungula and Vox Draconis ideals. Led by Maddison "Echo" Cross, the Silver Arrows were formerly the custodians of the Obrimos Library.
Sisters of Discord
Initially founded as a collection of close, charitable friends looking for a purpose, the Sisters soon found Discord infecting them. The loss of one cabal member, the disappearance of a leader, and a violent conflict left the Sisters struggling and humbled before the Consilium. The cabal was disbanded in spite of the remaining members' work to rebuild and strengthen their place.
Nothing remains of this once proud cabal made up of Guardians of the Veil and Adamantine Arrows. Spiritus Draconigena was known both for their martial prowess, investigative skills and played a pivotal role in the assassination of Reverend Nathan Montgomery.
Exclusively Free Council, Stella Maris attempted to bring enlightenment to the masses, but collapsed in the face of its primary founders' divorce (Critter and Keres).
A closely knit cabal deeply rooted in their Irish heritage. They served as custodians of the Thyrsus library until the mysterious disappearance of the materials within.
