Main Page questions

There are zero double redirects in this wiki. Why is so much space being devoted to calling them out? Is there any way that the "Most Wanted" could automatically display the top 5 Most Wanted pages instead of having to be changed by hand? I think a mention should be placed in the "World of Darkness Chat" that it has nothing to do with the Camarilla. Banaticus 19:24, 17 May 2006 (EDT)

Auto Link to [White Wolf Store]?

There are a lot of "requested pages" that are actually for books sold by White Wolf. Since this is the official White Wolf Wiki, hosted and (presumably) maintained by White Wolf, is there any way that all of these pages could receive a redirect to the appropriate section of the White Wolf store? For those books that are out of print, perhaps a standard "Out of Print" template could be created? Banaticus 18:48, 17 May 2006 (EDT)

I've started adding a redirect to every product page which links to the page explaining where to purchase product. Banaticus 19:12, 17 May 2006 (EDT)

I've been working on adding links to DriveThru for old WoD products, but it's been a while since I worked on it. (Though it seems like Children of Gaia Revised disappeared from there.) EvilTyger 16:57, 28 March 2008 (EDT)~

Redesign?

I'm going to put this up for public discussion... What do you think of a redesign of the front page? The major links would still be there, but so would lots of other stuff (although hopefully, not enough to be too busy). Fr'ex, look at the front page of the unofficial WW Wiki. Lots of handy links right at the top, a nifty "today in history" entry, maybe a featured article section.

What do you think? What would you like to see on the main page? --Ian 21:57, 11 April 2006 (EDT)

I think a few links should be added, for example, the links on World of Darkness page. This could make search easier and faster. Calisto 22:28, 11 April 2006 (EDT)
As it is, I do not think it would work quite as well as the unofficial Wiki. We definetely need more information... Once we do have it, however, a page like that could be the way to go. --serial_experiments 10:44, 12 April 2006 (EDT)
Well, having a page like that would certainly help encourage the adding of more information. People can see exactly what's needed. --Ian 11:30, 12 April 2006 (EDT)

An example of what I'm talking about can be viewed at Main Page/temp. --Ian 17:37, 12 April 2006 (EDT)

Looks good... Though is it really necessary to have a "Day in History" link? --serial_experiments 18:14, 12 April 2006 (EDT)
Maybe not, but I find it interesting. Fr'ex, today in 2001 was when WW announced the deal with Interplay to produce the Hunter: The Reckoning console games. It's also in the middle of the Paris University Purge of 1330, an early conflict between the Order of Reason and the Order of Hermes. --Ian 18:57, 12 April 2006 (EDT)

Will there be a space for the Dark Ages Chat, now that it's being revived? Levinwurth 06:01, 13 April 2006 (EDT)

Don't see why not. --Ian 22:35, 13 April 2006 (EDT)

Five days with no dissenting opinions, so I'm changing the page. --Ian 10:26, 16 April 2006 (EDT)

Most Wanted Pages

How do these work? I made the Guide to the Camarilla page redirect to the "What is the Camarilla" on the main White Wolf site and made "Tribe (Werewolf: The Forsaken)" redirect to "Tribes (Werewolf: The Forsaken)". I followed the link to "More" and created several pages there, such as one for the Penny Dreadful Novel, but they're all still listed there. Banaticus 18:19, 14 May 2006 (EDT)

Guide to the Camarilla is a book, and should not have been redirected. The Most Wanted list has to be manually updated, but Special:WantedPages (the More link) is dynamically updated. --Ian 12:25, 15 May 2006 (EDT)

Spam!

I think it may be a good idea to either download one of the anti-spam plugins for mediawiki, or disable anonymous posting (and get a plug in which requires people to read text from an image to register). Spam is overrunning the site.

Even something as simple as blocking posts with keywords like viagra (which would have blocked this post :/) or posts with nothing but numbers. JustinW 11:17, 11 July 2006 (EDT)

Missing Game Lines

Can someone please add a link Hunter: The Vigil to the front page with all the other new WoD games? --NingiaWiki 17:36, 25 August 2008 (UTC+1)

Geist needs to be added as well. I've generated the template for the page under Geist: The Sin-Eaters. --Malkom 19:40, 28 August 2009 (EDT)
